Happy 2nd Birthday to Paul!!!

Happy Birthday to our little Paul!!!

Paul is TWO now! We love him sooo very much. He makes me smile every time I see his cute dimples and bright eyes!

Paul is starting to talk now which is very cute. Everyday he surprises me by repeating a word I didn't know he knew. He knows "Hi!, play, treat, eat, drink, dog, cat, stop, no, uh-hum, uh-uh, baby, Jane, John, eyes, nose, ears, cheeks, grandma, grandpa, yucky, stinky, please, open now, 'K', and many more"!

My favorite is when he doesn't talk, but comes to get me by taking me by the hand and pulling me along and with his other hand he motions 'come with me' by opening and closing his little fingers. He is mostly irresistible! He also loves snuggles and will say "up" and curl up in your arms, suck his thumb and relax.

Another thing that I love about Paul is when he is crying and upset and you ask him what he needs - If what you ask isn't the right thing he just cries louder, and when you finally ask the right thing he will say "Uh-hum" in a desperate and hopeful way and calm himself down. It is sort of heartbreaking but sweet at the same time.

When Paul gets excited he will start doing a little skip jump and put his hands in the air and it makes me feel so good to know we are doing something that makes him so happy!

Jane is a great helper with Paul. She helps him get what he needs and helps me out with getting him into his car seat or bringing me his clothes when it is time to change him. He loves water and often when someone is in the tub, he will try to climb in even with all his clothes on! Paul also is a little bit of a teaser already! He will lay on the same couch as John and kick him with his feet, and sometimes if I am holding John or Jane, Paul will climb on my lap and try to push the other child off my lap! The only one he doesn't do that to is baby Peter. When I am holding Peter he will come lay by him and gently stroke Peter's hair. It is very sweet when he does that. John is also a great big brother to Paul - they like to play with toys, throw balls, run around, ride bikes, and even just sit together and watch a show with both of them sucking their thumbs (John does his right thumb, and Paul his left- hopefully they will stop soon!)

Paul loves to feed others his food even if you don't really want what he is giving you! He will keep pushing it toward your lips until you finally eat it. Paul also is at that curious age. He likes to climb up in the office chair and try to do the mouse and push all the buttons on the keyboard on the computer. He loves to get in the fridge (so we put a door lock on it!). And loves to pull a chair over to help me cook in the kitchen - which sometimes leads to messy spills.

Paul is also our social fellow. He will loves to go up to others, smile and say Hi. It is very cute. We are so grateful to have you Paul! Thanks for being our little boy!! We love you!

For Paul's 2nd Birthday we had fun celebrating. When we were at Mom and Dad Lewis' home this weekend for Bryan's Wedding Open House, we had a early birthday dinner for Paul and Aunt Dixie (They share birthdays and middle names! How cool is that!) on Sunday. Then on Paul's birthday we had a great birthday breakfast. Jane made Paul a great poster with a picture of our family. She drew MaryAnne in the sky with her thinking about Jane. :-)
Brent had to leave quickly to work so he was trying to hurry the present opening along and we moved Paul's cereal sundae so it wouldn't get in his gifts, but of all the things Paul got all he really wanted was the ice cream and he cried until he got it back!

During the day we took a friend to Boise and back and then in the evening we headed to Settler's Park in Meridian and met up with Uncle Kelly and his family and Uncle David's family. It was nice to play together! I do wish we could have gotten there sooner and tried fishing, but the children really just wanted to play at the park anyway!
