Memorial Day Memories! Brent's a Ham, Temple, Birthday BBQs, Fun in the Sun!

Wow what a fun and busy weekend! We both had wanted to go to see our parents but we decided it would be better to stay this time to save on gas. We are so grateful for Mom and Dad Orton going and cleaning up MaryAnne's spot for us and taking some flowers over for us. We are so glad we buried her close to our family so we can take care of her and go see her spot often! Thank you so very much Mom and Dad. We wish we could have come home but we did have a great time here too!

Friday night we went to do a temple session together for the first time since having Peter and we had a great time! That evening after we got back we took the children over to the Nay's home and had a fabulous ice cream/Mario party visit with the Cheney's!

On Saturday Brent took the Amateur Radio Exam in Fruitland, ID. While he was taking the exam the children and I played at the park and watched Toyland in the car. Way to go Brent!!! Now people will be right when they call you a "Ham"!

Saturday at noon we headed over to the Nicholson's for Matty's 4th Birthday BBQ. It was a great Wall-E party! Nichole had decorated so cute and had gotten a yummy Wall-E icecream cake and the food and company was wonderful. The children had a wonderful time playing together! The balloons and the party poppers were their favorite! We missed Rainy Blue's birthday party - But we hope you Hemmings had a bouncing great time!

We headed straight from Matty's Birthday BBQ to Dave and Penny's home for Penny's Big Birthday BBQ!! Wow - We have never had such an awsome feast! It was like a Thanksgiving BBQ - where you ate and ate and visted and played games and ate and ate some more. It was really great to be together as family and good friends. Thank you Dave and Penny for the wonderful and fun evening and the delicious food!

Sunday was a great day - Mike and Angie came to church for the first time and it was so nice to have them there! The Thomas' came over after church for dinner and it was very fun to visit!

Monday was a great day too! We were sort of lazy in the morning, cleaned up the kitchen and the yard a bit, and then went over to the Hamilton's for some playtime! Brent and Rob moved Jesse's tire swing that Rob built and then they went down in the crawl space to reroute the dryer vent. The children and Hannah and I had a great time playing on the slip 'n slide and visiting and hearing about Britain's autobiography that he is working on for school. It was a great afternoon!

In the evening we met up with Kelly and Shara at our Uncle Gilbert and Aunt Deanna's home. They had a family get together and it was so fun to be there with them! All of the children (and adults) had a great time playing together, jumping on the trampoline, shooting bows and arrows, riding bikes, playing with the flowers, visiting and pretending together! Jane (5.5) and Brywn (almost 7) and Dawnya (5) had a great time pretending together! Here was their flower wedding where they took Aunt Deanna's flowers off the snowball tree and made a flower eisle and threw flowers in the air an in their hair as they walked down the eisle. They were having such a good time, I just hope Aunt Deanna doesn't mind the bare spot she has in her snowball bush now! Ice cream with sprinkles was a big hit for everyone!

At the end all the boys and even Kristen and McKay helped haul Uncle Gilbert's hay. It was fun to do and it felt really good to be able to help him out after he had been so good to feed all of us and have such a great party! Thank you for the fun day!
