Lewis: Derived from Llewellyn meaning: Lion-like (Welsh)

Brent Lee
Brent: Form of Bryn: meaning Steep Hill (Celtic)
Lee: Form of Leah: meaning wood, clearing or meadow (Old English)
Why our parents named us this: They liked the name 'Brent', and 'Lee' was after the Prophet Harold B. Lee.

Tanya Kay
Tanya: English name derived from Tawny meaning: brownish, yellow, tan ; or Russian for Fairy Queen or Russian Saint (short for Tatiana)
Kay: Rejoicer (Greek)
Why our parents named us this: My mother had wanted to name me a Samoan name "Moana" which means sea-blue (She served a mission in Samoa), but my dad felt it didn't fit a white American girl. My hair was tawny colored when I was born and so they settled on 'Tanya' after my hair color. 'Kay' is my grandfather Maxwell Kay Pond's middle name.

MaryAnne Elizabeth
Mary: Bitterness, or Beloved (Hebrew – Mary, mother of Jesus- symbol for pure and deep love)
Anne: God was gracious (Hebrew)
Elizabeth: Consecrated to the Lord; My God has promised (Hebrew: el=God, the powerful; sheba= seven, or oath)
Why we named her this: After we found out MaryAnne was a girl, this name was the only one that felt right! Pure and sweet and gentle. We also like Anne with an "E" because of Anne of Green Gables! Elizabeth is after my sister Karen Elizabeth who is one of my best friends of this life and she was diagnosed with cancer at the same time we found out MaryAnne had hydrocephalus.

Jane Beverly
Jane: God is Gracious (Hebrew)
Beverly: Beaver Meadow (Old English: beofor= beaver; leah= wood, clearing or meadow)
Why we named her this: This was a name we just liked! Sweet Little Jane. Her middle name is after Jane’s great grandmother: Helen Beverly Coltrin – a lovely, talented, and wonderful woman that we feel is very similar to our Jane, and hope they would feel a special connection to each other.

John Brent
John: God is Gracious (Hebrew)
Brent: Steep Hill (Celtic)
We we named him this: After his great+ grandfathers on both sides and also after all of the great John's in the scriptures. And we just like the name John! 'Brent' is of course after his wonderful father. John was blond and skinny just like his dad when he was born!

Paul Lee
Paul: The Small, The Humble (Latin/Roman)
Lee: Lee: Form of Leah: meaning wood, clearing or meadow (Old English)
Why we named him this: This name we prayed strongly about and felt inspired that this was to be Paul's name. Besides being the name we felt was right for him, Paul is after the apostle Paul, and one of Brent's uncles- Paul Coltrin. 'Lee' is Paul's connection to his father - a wonderful and happy man! I couldn't think of a better man to name him after. Even though "Paul Lee" said together could sound like 'Polly' or like "Paulie want a cracker" - We know it is the name he was to be called. Sorry Paul in advance for the teasing you might get!
